Remember the people in your friends’ lives.

Your phone knows Alex’s birthday. It doesn’t know Alex has a daughter who turns 9 today. Circles keeps the spouses, kids and parents of everyone you care about, with their birthdays, and tells you who to message.

Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. Free to start, in English, Spanish and Russian.

The gap in your contacts

Contacts store people one by one. Life comes in circles.

A friend is never just one person. There is a partner whose name you should know, kids who grow a year older every year, parents you met at the wedding. Contacts has no place for any of them.

Why it matters

Small messages keep friendships alive.

You don’t lose friends in one big fight. You lose them to years of busy weeks with nothing said. A short note on the right day is the easiest way to stay part of someone’s life.

Remembering their kids says “I see your life”

Anyone can wish a friend happy birthday when a social app reminds them. Remembering that their son starts high school or their mom turns 70 shows you actually pay attention.

It takes twenty seconds

Circles reminds you a week ahead, the day before and on the day, and opens a ready message to the right person. You add the warmth; the app does the remembering.

No more blanking on names

Meeting a friend’s family at a party, and their partner’s name is gone? Open their circle before you walk in. Everyone is there, with how they are connected.

“Hey Alex! Happy 9th birthday to Emily. Hard to believe she’s already in third grade. Give her a hug from us!”

The message Alex gets because you kept one line in Circles: Emily, daughter, born October 19.
How it works

Set it up once. Be the friend who remembers, every year.

Step 1

Add a friend

Pick someone from your contacts or just type a name. Circles never writes anything back into Contacts.

Step 2

Add the people in their life

Spouse, kids, parents, siblings, with birthdays and anniversaries. A year is optional; “about 2015” works too.

Emily · daughter · Oct 19, 2017
Step 3

Get a nudge and send a note

A morning digest tells you who has a day coming up and whom to message. One tap opens the chat.

On your home screen

The widget shows who is next and whom to write to, without opening the app. Make it one row or stretch it into a list.

Tell it, don’t type it Pro

Say who’s who. Circles fills in the circle.

Talk the way you would to a friend. Circles finds the names, how each person is connected and their dates, and shows you the cards to check before anything is saved.

Your note is understood by a model on your phone and never sent anywhere. Speech is recognized on the phone too once your language’s offline pack is installed.

Listening “Alex’s wife is Sarah, her birthday is October 22nd. Their daughter Emily turns 9 on October 19, and Michael is 11, born November 8.”

Everything in Circles

Made for families that span two languages and three time zones.

Circles of people

Each friend gets a circle: spouse, kids, parents, siblings, and anyone else with your own label, like “godson” or “mother-in-law”. One person can be in several circles.

Reminders that arrive early

A week before, the day before, on the day, or all three. One morning digest at the time you choose, never a pile of alerts.

Messages in their language

Each person can have their own language, so the ready message fits them.

ENHappy birthday to Emily! ES¡Feliz cumpleaños a Sofía! RUС днём рождения Сони!

Widgets on your home screen

See who is next without opening the app. With Pro, the whole week and the iPhone lock screen.

Birthdays from Contacts in one tap

Import everyone who already has a birthday in Contacts. Imported people are always free and don’t count toward your circles.

Backups, and a new phone made easy

Export an encrypted file any time. With Pro, Circles backs up to Google Drive or iCloud every day or week, and a new phone gets everything back.

Privacy

Your friends’ families are nobody else’s business.

Circles holds things people tell you in trust: kids’ names, ages, anniversaries. So it keeps them on your phone, and only you decide where a copy goes.

No account, no sign-upOpen the app and start. There is no Circles server holding your people.
Contacts stay untouchedCircles reads names and birthdays when you ask it to, and never adds or changes a contact.
Dictation is worked out on your phoneThe model that sorts out who is who runs offline. Speech is recognized on the phone once your language’s offline pack is installed; until then Google or Apple does it, and the app tells you so.
Backups locked with your passwordFiles and cloud copies are encrypted on the phone before they leave it. Google and Apple can’t read them.
No ads, no advertising IDAnonymous usage counts can be switched off in Settings. They never include names, dates or contacts.

Questions

Before you download

How is this different from the birthdays in my calendar?

A calendar shows a date and a name. Circles knows that Emily is Alex’s daughter, so it reminds you to message Alex, shows her age, and keeps her next to her parents and brother. Birthdays you already have in Contacts can be imported in one tap.

Does it work without the internet?

Yes. Reminders, messages, file backups and the dictation model work offline. The internet is needed for purchases, cloud backups and, until your language’s offline speech pack is installed, recognizing speech.

What happens when I change phones?

With Pro, turn on automatic backup and open “Restore from Google Drive” or “Restore from iCloud” on the new phone, then enter your backup password. On the free plan, export a backup file and open it on the new phone. Files made on iPhone open on Android and the other way round.

Which languages does Circles speak?

The app is in English, Spanish and Russian. Each person can have their own language for ready messages, so you can write to your aunt in Russian and to your neighbor in English.

Can I cancel Pro?

Any time, in the App Store or Google Play. Your circles stay. Over the free limit you can still see and edit everyone; adding people to new circles needs Pro again.

Who has a birthday this week in your circles?

Add three friends tonight and their families. Next time someone’s kid turns a year older, you’ll be the first to say it.
