The app

Circles helps you remember the families of the people you know, their birthdays and other dates, and reminds you whom to message. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. The app is licensed, not sold. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (on the App Store) or the Google Play Terms of Service (on Google Play) also apply. Where they conflict with these terms, they take precedence on that point.

Your information about other people

You decide what to add about your friends and their families, and it stays on your device. Please add only what you have a right to keep. Treat other people’s details, especially about their children, with care and in line with the law where you live.

Circles Pro

Some features are part of Circles Pro and can be bought as a monthly or yearly subscription or as a one-time purchase.

When Pro ends, your data stays. Over the free limit you can still see and edit everyone. Adding people to new circles needs Pro again.

Dictation and the on-device model

Dictation uses a language model based on Google’s Gemma. It is provided under and subject to the Gemma Terms of Use, and you agree not to use it for anything listed in the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy. Dictation can misunderstand names, relationships or dates. Always check the cards before saving.

Backups

Reminders are best effort

We work hard to make reminders reliable, but phones can delay or block notifications: battery savers, Focus or Do Not Disturb, permissions, system limits, a lost or reset device. Circles is a helpful tool, not a guarantee that you won’t miss a date. Don’t rely on it for anything critical.

What you may not do

Don’t use Circles to break the law or harass anyone. Don’t try to copy, resell, reverse-engineer or get around the purchase checks, except where the law allows it.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Circles is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, goodwill or missed occasions. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Circles in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

Ending use

You can stop using Circles at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any subscription. We may stop offering the app or any feature. If we do, the data on your phone and your backups stay yours.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and change the date at the top, and for important changes we will also say so in the app. If you keep using Circles after a change, you accept the new terms.
